I have always been creative and find the process of oil painting to be more challenging and satisfying than anything I have done. Growing up in New York City developed my desire to travel and experience beautiful places. Summers in the Catskill Mountains of New York State increased that desire. My favorite subjects are moody landscapes that show the visual qualities of light moving across a subject, especially at sunrise or sunset. My goal is to capture the essence of that mood and engage the viewer in a personal process of “seeing” my image as it combines with their memories of a similar experience. I want my work to invoke pleasure. It is also a passion of mine to teach others to discover their own artistic gifts.
