February 1-Cottonwood Creek Park-Winter creek, with cattails, willows, mountain backdrop. Listed on Google Maps as Rangewood Drive, but parking lot is on the west side of park on Montarbor Drive by Tapestry Trail Road
February 8-Phelan Gardens-Blooming plants and flowers in greenhouse area, 4955 Austin Bluffs Parkway, open at 9 am, dress in layers, depending on sun, can be cool or very warm inside.
February 15-Palmer Park Ute Crest Yucca Area (also large off leash dog park area) Grasses, yucca, pines, rock formations at top of mesa overlooking the front range mountains and city below. From Circle Drive, head north on Paseo past the golf course on the left, through the park up to top of hill, turn left at dirt road, follow signs to Ute Crest Yucca Area, at end of dirt road, circular parking lot. Don’t take right turn down the hill to Lazy Land.
February 22- Bancroft Park-Victorian buildings in the heart of Old Colorado City, the old territorial capital that became Colorado Springs. 2408 W. Colorado Avenue. Metered parking, some off street free parking.
