PAAC Colorado Springs Paintouts June 2018- come early to any of these if you like, scheduled time is 9 am, but if you want to beat the heat, they are all public locations.
Thursday May 31- Heller Center- in Colorado Springs, owned by UCCS, the former white adobe home and garden of 1900’s artist Larry Heller, advertising illustrator, oil painter, ceramicist, sculptor, set designer, and actor. 1250 Campus Heights Drive- directly across from Trader Joe’s on Nevada, and North of the Four Diamonds ball field. Drive through the parking lot and on the south side of the lot enter the gravel road and keep driving until you reach the house and lot. Great views of Eagle Rock, the peak, and interesting architecture and gardens
Thursday June 7Garden of the Gods Trading Post- Parking is all around the building, some towards Beckers Lane. Courtyard, blooming plants, historic adobe building, coyote fence. Tourist building with souveniers, lunch, and coffee.
Thursday June 14 Garden of the Gods-SOUTH parking lot, #10 on the map, Juniper Way Loop. The trail is directly across the street, and takes you up either a steep path with stairs or a winding trail to great overview of the Peak with red rock outcroppings in the foreground. Not as trafficked as other trails.
Thursday June 21-Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center/South Cheyenne Canon- 2120 South Cheyenne Canon Road 80906. Historical home, nature center, tall Cottonwoods, creek, and wildflowers.
Thursday June 28 Cottonwood Creek Park- parking lot on the west side of Montarbor Drive by Tapestry Trail Road. Creek with views of Pikes Peak and Front Range.
