Thursday, May 21, 9:00-12:00. Ute Valley Park –Southwest Entrance (take Mule Deer Dr off Centennial to Pinon Park Dr.; more parking here than off Vindicator). Pinon trees, rocks, mountain views. Restrooms may be available.

Tuesday, May 26, 9:00-12:00. Rock Ledge Ranch (park near Chambers & Pike off 30th and Water St.. Rocks, trees, plants, livestock, barn. Restrooms available.

Thursday, May 28, 9:00-12:00. Heller Center (part of UCCS). 1250 North Campus Heights, Colorado Springs. Adobe buildings, beautiful gardens, rock formations, mountain views. Restrooms available.

Peak & Palette Events - Plein Air in the Shadow of Pikes Peak - 

I'm excited to announce a new plein air event this August in Colorado Springs!!

The 2026 Bear Creek Plein Air Event coincides with Bear Creek Nature Center's 50th anniversary - their 50th "Bear-thday". What better way to share the beauty of this wonderful, locally supported resource in Colorado Springs than to have local artists interpret it through paintings and drawings. Artworks created during the August 8-18 timeframe may be entered into the 2026 Bear Creek Plein Air Art Exhibit (with awards) that will be attended by 500+ patrons and on display for three weeks, August 20-September 9, 2026.

In addition to loving plein air painting, I'm the Executive Director, manager, secretary, and chief bottle washer of Peak & Palette Events. 

Our vision is to bring new plein air events to Colorado Springs and the southern Front Range with the mission to promote artists and the recognition you bring to the region through your art.

Participation is limited to 40 artists residing in specific counties to allow truly local artists to participate.

I would love to see a bunch of you take advantage of this event that is so close by, to help further promote art in the region! Please feel free to share this with other artists who would be interested, thanks much!
