South Platte Park contains the only unchannelized stretch of the South Platte River in the Denver Metro Area.
Feb. 13, 2018 Hildebrand Ranch - Littleton 9880 W Deer Creek Canyon Rd, Littleton, CO 80127
In the early 1860s, pioneering settlers built a log cabin at this site next to Deer Creek, as it was the only source of water available for miles. The trees growing along its banks provided shade from the hot summer sun and protection from the harsh winter winds. Denver was a four-hour ride away on horseback.

Park at the Belmar Library 555 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, CO 80226
Directions: From Wadsworth and Alameda drive south to W. Virginia Ave. Turn Right, then take the first left and the library parking lot is on the right. Go to the back, left section of the parking lot and walk on the dirt path to the lake. The Lakewood Heritage Center is adjacent to the lake with its own parking lot if you prefer.

We’ll try for this gorgeous area unless there is a snow storm that day. Views of the numbered peaks of Breckenridge and Lake Dillon, looking very pretty this time of year. Free parking and bathroom. Bring your lunch and we’ll have a picnic. Directions:Take the Silverthorne exit from I-70 and drive a few miles through Dillon. Turn right on Swan Mountain Rd. and drive several miles till you get to Sapphire Point Overlook on your right.

Directions: Go to Quincy and Dahlia St., turn south on Dahlia. Go about one block to parking lot. Painting sites across foot bridge along path or downhill to the
left for creek and lake. note: Quincy is between Belleview and Hampden. Dahlia is between Colorado Blvd. and Monaco Streets in Englewood CO - Small parking lot.
