It's 25° along the Poudre River and a dozen goosedown-jacketed figures have been standing in the snow, barely moving, for the past three hours. Who would do such a thing? Why, members of the Northern Colorado Plein Air Artists, that's who. Committed to painting the landscape in all weather — after all, “plein air,” the painting style of the French Impressionists, means painting in the “open air” — they meet every Friday throughout the year to paint, sun, rain or snow. Now's the chance to see what they've been up to at their annual exhibit at the Carnegie Center for Creativity,Fort Collins. The exhibit will showcase oil, pastel and watercolor paintings of 15 local plein air artists.
